Case Study: Millie
Home-School Tutoring was contacted by a residential children’s home to provide tuition for Millie* aged 17.
Millie suffers from extreme anxiety and has a diagnosis of Autism. She had been moved several times and found it hard to adapt to new schools. Consequently she not attended school for many months and had not passed any GCSEs.
Home-School Tutoring have supplied a tutor who is working with Millie to prepare her for Functional Skills exams in Maths and English.
It has taken many months for the tutor to build Millie’s confidence, but now she hopes to get into college to study childcare in the future.

I had been a private tutor for many years before taking over Home-School Tutoring Sussex and Kent. During this time, I worked with children with a range of difficulties. I soon realised that emotional support and encouragement were as important as academic input. My pupils also taught me that every child and young person has incredible strengths and talents.
