Case Study: Elisha
Home-School Tutoring was contacted by her mother to provide Maths and English tuition for Elisha*. She had been granted funding from a charity that helps young people with mental disabilities.
Elisha was in a hospital secure unit a significant distance from her home. We arranged for a tutor to attend the unit for two hours a week covering basic Maths and Literacy skills.
Elisha enjoyed her tuition sessions as they were engaging and provided a break from her usual daily routine. Our tutor worked with Elisha for around a year until she was transferred to a hospital nearer to her family home.
*Name changed for confidentiality

For your peace of mind
I had been a private tutor for many years before taking over Home-School Tutoring Sussex and Kent. During this time, I worked with children with a range of learning difficulties. I soon realised that emotional support and encouragement were as important as academic input. My pupils also taught me that SEN children and young people have incredible strengths and talents. It is a privilege for me to assist them so they can have the support, respect and success they deserve.
