Case Study: Amy
Home-School Tutoring was contacted by a Virtual School to provide support in Maths and English tuition for Amy*. Amy is a looked after child who was experiencing difficulties adapting to a new school following a traumatic experience. She has significant gaps in her knowledge and was becoming increasingly anxious about her Year 6 SATs.
Home-School Tutoring provided a patient and encouraging tutor to help fill some of the gaps in Amy’s knowledge while also building her self-esteem.
The tutor continued to work with Amy until after her SATs to facilitate the transition to secondary education.

Case Study: Charlie
Charlie* is a Year 8 pupil who had recently moved to a new school and a new area. Home-School Tutoring received a request for tuition to support Charlie who had been absent from school for more than eight months.
We have arranged tuition for Charlie with two specialist tutors to help motivate him and give him a secure foundation before he moves into KS4. The tutors work in partnership with Charlie’s school to ensure that he is fully supported in his education.

For your peace of mind

I had been a private tutor for many years before taking over Home-School Tutoring Sussex and Kent. During this time, I worked with children with a range of difficulties. I soon realised that emotional support and encouragement were as important as academic input. My pupils also taught me that all children and young people have incredible strengths and talents, even if they have had a difficult start. It is a privilege for me to assist them so they can have the support, respect and success they deserve.
