Supportive Tuition For All

Local Authorities

At Home-School Tutoring, we arrange specialist tuition commissioned by the Local Authorities.

We work with organisations to offer not just academic support, but also emotional and behavioural support.

Our thoroughly vetted, experienced tutors are committed to helping young people achieve their best.

Safeguarding

Ensuring young people are safe during our tutor sessions is a priority for us. We conduct rigorous background checks to establish a tutor’s identity and qualifications.

All tutors have up-to-date Fully Enhanced DBS certificates and we seek professional references.

Expert Support

Our qualified tutors offer in-depth subject knowledge and individualised attention.

Personalised Learning

Tailored teaching methods to help every child reach their potential.

Engaging Approach

Our tutors adapt teaching methods to suit each child's unique learning preferences.

Goals and Targets

We work with Local Authorities to deliver safe and consistent tuition. Tutors are familiar with implementing agreed support strategies and the Assess, Plan, Do, Review approach. They work to make sure any gaps in learning are filled, while offering gentle support and encouragement.

Case Study: Ella

Home-School Tutoring was contacted by a SEND commissioner to provide Maths and English tuition for Ella*. Ella suffers from extreme anxiety and has been diagnosed with Autism. She found school overwhelming and was no longer able to attend.

Home-School Tutoring supplied a tutor who worked patiently with Ella, who hid in her bed for several sessions before engaging with the tutor. Through her patient encouragement, Ella was able to begin learning and building a trusting relationship with her tutor.

In the long term, the goal is to transition Ella to a new school, but for now, she has the continued support of her tutor and looks forward to her sessions.

Case Study: Sam

Sam* is a Year 7 pupil who has moderate learning difficulties. Home-School Tutoring received a request for tuition to support Sam as he was finding the transition to secondary school challenging and had refused to attend on many occasions.

We arranged tuition for Sam with a specialist tutor with a vast experience of SEN. With their support, he was able to return to school and began to flourish. The tutor continued to support Sam for the rest of the academic year until he had become confident with his new school and the challenges of secondary education.

Robust Safeguarding Policy

For your peace of mind

I had been a private tutor for many years before taking over Home-School Tutoring Sussex and Kent. During this time, I worked with children with a range of learning difficulties. I soon realised that emotional support and encouragement were as important as academic input. My pupils also taught me that SEN children and young people have incredible strengths and talents. It is a privilege for me to assist them so they can have the support, respect and success they deserve.
